There is a place of quiet rest near to the heart of God. The closer we get to that place, the happier we will be. 

I was just about to hit the publish button but realized I had not entered any text into the document in order to have something to read.

Living at peace with all men as far as it depends on you is an active commitment to humility, self-control, and empathy. It means choosing de-escalation over winning an argument, listening to understand rather than to react, and letting go of minor offenses before they breed bitterness. Peace begins internally; by mastering your own reactions, words, and intentions, you create an environment where hostility finds little fuel to grow.

Whether "letting your conscience be your guide" is right or wrong depends on how well-formed and critical that conscience is. Following an internal moral compass is a cornerstone of personal integrity and human dignity, compelling individuals to resist unjust authority, act with empathy, and take personal accountability for their choices. When anchored by sound reason and ethical reflection, conscience serves as a crucial, immediate check against cruelty and self-interest.

The phrase "freedom is as freedom does" highlights that true liberty is defined by actions and behavior, rather than mere words or status. It suggests that freedom is not just an abstract right or a static privilege, but a continuous practice of responsibility, choice, and moral courage. To truly possess freedom, one must actively exercise it through meaningful deeds that reflect autonomy and respect for the rights of others.
